Dr. Annah Anikie Molosiwa

Dr. Annah Molosiwa is a Senior lecturer and Head of the Department of Languages and Social Sciences Education at the University of Botswana.

She holds a PhD in Teaching, Curriculum and Education Policy from Michigan State University, with previous academic background in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA.

She conducts research on language education policy, language and literacy education, multicultural education, and teacher education and professional development.

Dr. Molosiwa has served for more than twenty-five years as a secondary school teacher, a teacher educator, and a researcher.

She has vast experience in nationwide studies: She was a member of the Ministry of Education appointed Task Forces for Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Setswana syllabi review, the UNICEF appointed team that investigated how to improve the instructional setting of Remote Area Dweller (RAD) schools, and a team of consultants appointed by the Department of Curriculum Development and Evaluation to review the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary School Curriculum.

She also was a member of a team of consultants who were appointed by the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and UNICEF to conduct a study on “Enhancing the quality of Education in Botswana”.

With such consultancy experiences, Dr. Molosiwa’s familiarity with the complexities of educational issues and expertise with large-scale datasets, and data collection from parents, students, teachers, leading authorities, and other stakeholders in education is an asset to INARELS.

Dr Molosiwa is a member of the Botswana Educational Research Association (BERA), Reading Association of Botswana (RAB), International Reading Association (IRA) and the International Study Association on Teachers and Teaching (ISATT).
